We visited the Oregon Zoo today! It is a great zoo, and today was a bright sunny day! The NW Passage is beautiful! It's like hiking through the woods with animals to stop and look at on the way!
Ava LOVED this polar bear costume. She kept hugging it and saying, "Oh, it's so great to see him! This is an important day!" (I'm not sure what was important about this, but when you're 3 and you're Ava, you view the world in your own important way!) She was so excited and so proud to have her picture taken with him.
Aiden, of course, was hiding behind Brien. I guess that costumes will never be his thing. Will we ever be able to do Disney??

orangutans. She was fascinated by all of the primates. When the chimpanzee peed off the perch he was on, she said, "Hey! He's supposed to go in the potty like me!"

This is
Aiden in the barn where you can climb up the straw bales. I think he's going through a growth spurt. He ate a GIANT breakfast and was hungry the whole time we were at the zoo. I had snacks but not a feast! He was fascinated by the mock camping set-up they put in the black bear area. They let the bears out after setting it up to show the destruction they can do if you aren't using safe measures to dissuade them. Of course, he wanted to know if there were black bears in the Redwood Forest where we will be camping this summer.
Both kids really enjoyed the close up exhibits of fish and turtles.
