So I have to tell this Ava story as it illustrates our daughter perfectly. Ava and I picked up Aiden from his friend, Max's, house, and he was complaining that he really wanted to stay longer! and couldn't he just have a sleepover? and could he play with Max tomorrow? etc... Here's the rest of the conversation...Mom: Aiden, you were at Max's for 7 hours today! You played all day and even had lunch with him. Let's focus on what you DO have instead of the things you DON'T have.
Ava: Aiden, it's called Counting Your Blessings.
That's our girl...right on cue as if Mama Bear Berenstain were in the car with us! :)
